The Essential Make-Up Brushes

Every girl, woman and make-up artist need the perfect set of brushes to create their work... So here are some that I picked out to help with that decision. I don't disagree that flawless cannot be created with the use of your fingers, but I love my makeup brushes. I'm a brush junkie! If I had to reach for a handful of brushes everyday this is what I would choose...

Angled Contour Brush : Look Good Feel Better

This is a new brush in the collection of mine and fell in love instantly. I spotted this shopping at TK Maxx and knew I had to try this and I didn't have one that looked like this. The thing that drew me to this brush the most was that it is partnership that supports women with cancer and that an 8-12% donation is made from each purchase! All of their brushes are also allergy free, cruelty free and suitable for sensitive skin. I found this brush to give me accurate placement of my bronzer and didn't make it look like a streaky like on my face. It's really soft also that works well on the skin.

Multitask Brush : Real Techniques Tapered Blush

So this brush I actually had my eye on for a while, and the rose gold colour drew me in more! I managed to get this as a gift for christmas which I was delighted about and wanted to use it straight away. To say, I haven't stopped using it since. Real Techniques as a brand are excellent for their products but this one stood out to me a lot. Being called a Tapered Blush Brush it definitely is good at it's job, but it can also be used for many other things as well as this. I use this a lot for setting my concealer and also found that this can work well to apply a powder highlight to the high points of my cheeks.

Buffing Brush : Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

This Real Techniques Buffing Brush with the first brush that I owned and went and bought myself. I actually bought this from seeing many people raving about it being so good... which it is! For blending my foundation it works wonders as it really buffs the product into my skin but still leaves it with quite a high coverage which is what I look for. I also love using this to buff in my concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes that I have as it allows the product to get in all the creases.

Setting Brush : Real Techniques Setting Brush

The Real Techniques Setting Brush is an all time favourite of mine. So I got this in a set with two other brushes but this one I use the most. I mostly use this for setting power under the eyes and on the t-zone of my face, but I also use this to apply highlight to the high points of my cheeks, down the bridge of my nose, my cupids bow and my brow bone for that glow. This brush is also great at blending cream products as it's small and dainty but also quite fluffy at the same time.

Blending Brush : Real Techniques Oval Shadow Brush

So this brush I got alongside the Tapered Blush as a gift for christmas which I'm very fortunate of, but this was definitely a great one to add to my collection. It has really helped me with the application of my eyeshadow. I don't necessarily use this to apply eyeshadow, but mostly use this when it's clean and free of product to blend out eyeshadow that I have already applied. It really allows the product to move and blends it very well. It is quite large in size but allows me to have more precision on my blending.

Most of my brush collection is Real Techniques as this is what I prefer to use, but I have also used many other brushes along the way that can almost do an equal job! If you have any recommendations let me know as I'm willing to expand..

Love you all, x
